It is with great pleasure that we introduce the Chronicle’s newest Editorial Board member: Prof. Dr. Nico W. Van Yperen.

His research focuses on motivation and talent development, and more specifically, on questions such as: Why and how are people motivated in work, sports, school, and other achievement settings? How can supervisors, mentors, coaches, and teachers stimulate subordinates’, athletes’, and children’s talents and creativity? What are the factors that promote or hinder learning and achievement? What determines effective coaching and mentoring? Are older workers in particular effective mentors? For more detailed information, follow http://www.rug.nl/staff/n.van.yperen/research
