Dr. Jean Rhodes to Join CityLab Madrid Panel on Youth Mentoring and City-Led Investment

We’re excited to announce that Dr. Jean Rhodes, Frank A. Boyden Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Evidence-Based Mentoring at UMass Boston, will be joining an international panel at CityLab 2026 in Madrid, Spain.

Dr. Rhodes will take the stage at The Palace Hotel for a conversation on how cities can use high-quality mentoring to transform outcomes for young people. The session centers on London’s New Deal for Young People, a record-breaking citywide investment strategy reaching over 100,000 young Londoners, and how that model can travel to cities everywhere.

She’ll be joined by Lib Peck of the Mayor of London’s Violence Reduction Unit, Okela Douglas of Sister System, and youth peer researchers Youseline Dufrene and Unis Ali, with moderation by Garrett Richardson of Bloomberg Associates. The session includes a live audience Q&A, so come ready to join the conversation.
