Although there’s a growing number of studies on the experiences of Black men in higher education, there isn’t as much research on this subject that incorporates culturally sensitive, arts-based methodologies.
The study featured in this event applies hip hop to traditional qualitative methods to create a mixtape* that a) transforms the way mentors can connect with their mentees and b) centers cultural knowledge as an approach to collecting data.
