[Webinar] Designing Curriculum for Group Mentoring

Thursday, September 17, 2020, 1:00 – 2:15 PM Eastern

This webinar addresses factors to consider as you design curriculum for your group mentoring program. The webinar will begin with discussion of how to select group sizes and mentor to mentee ratios that will help your effort to run smoothly and to reach intended goals. Presenters will highlight strategies for putting the actual “mentoring” into group mentoring, including how to nurture the development of relationships, as well as tips for facilitating group sharing in a way that allows mentees to express their true selves. Next, presenters will discuss techniques for creating a structured group mentoring curriculum by developing sessions through a “flow of activities template,” and will also describe one program’s successful pivot to virtual group mentoring. Additionally, the webinar will provide resources on online curricula for group mentoring programs that can be downloaded at no cost.

This webinar is funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention through the National Mentoring Resource Center and facilitated in partnership with MENTOR and a planning team of MENTOR Affiliates.
