innovation Research & Training (iRT), a behavioral science research firm, in Durham, North Carolina, seeks a full-time Research Scientist. iRT specializes in the development, evaluation, and dissemination of evidence-based prevention and intervention programs for youth.
Job Description: Project Director of and team member on several research, evaluation, and training and technical assistance projects in the area of youth mentoring. Job responsibilities include: monitoring the progress of projects to ensure compliance with protocol and study schedule; coordinating and monitoring data collection, project maintenance, and project termination activities; managing data coding and data entry; conducting statistical analyses in SAS; coordinating and contributing to development of training materials; technical assistance to mentoring organizations; participating in presentations to scientific, policy, and practitioner groups; manuscript preparation; grant writing; and supervision of project staff members.
Requirements: Ph.D. or ABD in a Social, Behavioral, or Health Science with 4-6 years of research experience. Expertise or knowledge in youth mentoring, child clinical psychology, or developmental psychology (esp. social-emotional development); statistics; program evaluation; and project management. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication; and previous experience with data collection with children or adolescents.
