1/16 Webinar: New National Report on Young People’s Perspectives on Mentoring

Briefing: New National Report on Young People’s Perspectives on MentoringThursday, January 16, 2014
1:00 PM – 2:15 PM EDT

This webinar will explore the insights gained from the first-ever nationally representative survey of young people on the topic of mentoring, which will be released on January 13, 2014. Commissioned by MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership, with support from AT&T and written by Mary Bruce and John Bridgeland of Civic Enterprises with Hart Research, the report brings the voices of young people to the center of the dialogue about the availability and impact of mentoring. Over 1,000 young people were surveyed about their experiences with both structured and informal mentoring, and the report highlights three key insights. MENTOR CEO David Shapiro will be joined by leaders from the mentoring field to discuss the implications of this report and offer ways that mentoring programs can use this data in their on-going efforts to advocate for support and integration of their work across a variety of efforts to drive achievement and increase opportunity for young people at school, home and work.
