New Webinar: Strategies for Creating Ongoing Mentor Training
Thu, May 17, 2018 1:00 PM – 2:15 PM EDT
Most mentoring programs involve their mentors in an initial training before they are matched, but fewer programs provide ongoing training as those matches take shape.
This webinar describes the benefits of holding post-match mentor trainings, and it also reviews strategies for creating these workshops, beginning with how to identify pertinent training topics. In addition to exploring strategies for supervision and problem-solving, panelists will cover specific training techniques and exercises that can be used to help mentors build the skills needed to work with young people.
Webinar attendees will receive access to a wide array of curriculum that can be used to create their own ongoing mentor training sessions. Longtime mentoring consultants and trainers Jerry Sherk M.A. and Judy Strother Taylor of the California Mentoring Partnership will join with Wesley West of Project Arrive to bring this exciting webinar to the field.
