MentorPRO Featured in Axim Collaborative’s 2026 Impact Report

October 6, 2026/in MentorPRO AI/by Emily.Buss001@umb.edu

MentorPRO is featured in Axim Collaborative’s 2026 Impact Report for its partnership with the University of Massachusetts Boston on AI-enhanced peer mentoring.

The platform takes a “human-at-the-helm” approach, using AI to strengthen human relationships rather than replace them. It gives trained peer mentors real-time information to better support their mentees. MentorPRO currently supports more than 900 students across four UMass Boston colleges, with plans to expand across the UMass system in the coming years.

The feature showcases the story of Alondra Gomez Garcia, a first-generation student who was paired with a fellow first-generation peer mentor through UMass Boston’s CLA First! program. What began as a formal mentoring relationship grew into a friendship, and Alondra is now a peer mentor themself.
