MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership (MENTOR) is excited to launch the Mentoring Connector, a new and improved tool for mentoring programs and potential volunteers to find each other using a zip code searchable database. MENTOR’s original Volunteer Referral Service (VRS) will transition over to the Mentoring Connector this spring. The Mentoring Connector will function like the VRS – as a free database and referral service that helps quality youth mentoring programs across the US recruit more local volunteers and increase visibility for mentoring through national public awareness campaigns. The Mentoring Connector will include new search parameters, targeting options and updated mentoring program information.

Hosted on MENTOR’s official website, http://www.mentoring.org, this resource is the only national database of mentoring programs and it is used as a valuable tool by high-profile partners like the White House My Brother’s Keeper initiative, the NBA Cares mentoring recruitment page, serve.gov and others. Each year, our collective call-to-action through national initiatives results in more than 60,000 searches in the system.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be a part of this critical resource that will directly connect you to potential volunteers. Make sure your program is searchable in the Mentoring Connector by following the instructions below to submit your program for listing:

1.    Go to https://connect.mentoring.org/admin
2.    Click the “Add a New Program” button below the login fields (do not enter your email address or a password)
3.    Enter requested info on your mentoring program. Remember that what you enter in the Program Description and Mentor Description fields will be visible to anyone searching for programs through the system, so use clear and informative language.
4.    Click “Submit” when finished. Your submission will then be available for review.
