Must Read: Special Issue on Military Children and Families

Special Issue on Military Children and Families - The Chronicles of Evidence-Based MentoringPrestigious journal The Future of Children has devoted its latest issue to Military Children and Families. This issue is the result of a collaboration with the Military Child Coalition.  Unlike most academic journals, FOC grants full access to readers. This special issue is a treasure trove. The editors  Stephen J. Cozza (Retired Army Colonel) and Richard M. Lerner (Tufts University Bergstrom Chair) sought to: integrate what is known about the strengths and challenges faced by military children and families; to survey the programs that serve them; to specify future directions for research; and to survey the evidence for policies and programs that serve them. They also highlight how research on non-military children and families in hopes that it can help researchers and practitioners to better understand military children and families.  The result is a rich, thoughtful and extremely important special issue that will be a resource to programs, researchers, and policy makers for years to come.
