Now online: The new science of mentoring: Leveraging evidence to improve outcomes
Keynote address from the 2014 Mentoring Congress in Heerenveen, The Netherlands on March 20th, 2014. Dr. Jean Rhodes, Frank L. Boyden Professor of Psychology at University of Massachusetts Boston and Research Director of The Center for Evidence-Based Mentoring, draws from her 20+ years of experience as a youth mentoring researcher in the United States to give a comprehensive presentation. Recent research that gauges the effectiveness of youth mentoring is discussed and recommendations are given on how to best leverage program practices and policy to maximize positive youth outcomes and minimize the risk for negative outcomes. Professor Rhodes covers a wide range of topics in the field of youth mentoring and provides advice that is specific to program staff, policy makers, and researchers within the European Union.
