Mark Your Calendar: Upcoming Webinar on School-Based Mentoring with Dr. Sam McQuillin

Title: Integrated School-Based Mentoring Webinar
Date: May 6, 1:00-2:30pm ET
Description: America’s youth are facing a growing mental health crisis, affecting many social, emotional, behavioral, and academic outcomes. The nation’s schools are at the forefront of addressing this crisis but are often understaffed and unable to meet youth’s rising mental health and academic needs. During this webinar, NMRC Research Board member Samuel McQuillin will explore the emerging strategy of integrated school-based mentoring, in which community mentors and caring adults become critical members of student support teams to bolster youth assistance and optimize service use. School personnel and mentoring programs coordinate their efforts to support the mentor in leveraging helpful strategies, such as mental health first aid, academic skills training, and social capital-building activities that strengthen student wellness, among other things.
